Before I'm crushed by the number of the inevitable response….I know you're not allowed to time laps.

But.

I heard a whisper that roll cage or action cap mounted data loggers WITHOUT a live information feed to the driver is permissible.

Can anyone confirm this?

I can safely say that 99% of trackday users time the laps someway

got a vbox sport.

Just to be clear…it's specifically Goodwood that I'm asking about, I've contacted them but they haven't got back yet. (a few other tracks I've been to haven't had an issue with it in the past but just want to be certain).

I'm struggling to understand why you're asking.

Surely you just locate it in a hard to see place and don't tell them?

I once made the mistake of asking about camera mounting and was told to remove it. Next time I didn't ask and nobody questioned it.

(I was using an iPod Nano velcroed to the sun visor)

I have used a VBox Lite at Goodwood in the past but all tucked away out of view, not because I was trying to hide it just because that is where it lives in the car.

Last time I used it, it was hidden away. And when I checked it at lunch I found it had dropped the satellite signal and failed to find it. It was fine under the windscreen but not hidden away.

Where in the car did you hide it? Were you using an antenna?

Under the passenger seat with the box set to start recording on sensing movement. GPS antenna was tucked in to the dash and not easily visible but again that is just where I wedge it, not to try and deceive.

I would take it with you, if they do object on the day you can always take it out or turn it off, if they don't object please post som vid's.

I think this is the answer I'm looking for, thanks for that.

And thanks to everyone else for your help.
