Had my first (car) trackday yesterday. I've done a few on the bike before but never in the car.

I've had my MX5 mildly supercharged and the chap who worked on it for/with me told me about the Javelin trackday at Snetterton which ran yesterday so I booked myself on.

Well run, very friendly and no mishaps.

Overtaking only on the left, and only on the straights (except in Corran).

There was some nice machinery there, including an X-Bow, Radical, couple of Ginettas, a mental Exige and a classic Porsche 912 amongst several TVRs, a gaggle of RX8s and a throng of VX220s.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, and will be back for more. I need to work on the brakes as I cooked them early on and had to adjust my driving style so it was less late/hard braking.. that and stickier rubber as I could feel her drifting wide quite often. No least I need to work on my testicular dimensions and top up on my talent.

A couple of laps here:

Actually (if you didn't already know) that's the best way to brake - if you are early and light on the brakes you're more likely to boil the fluid.

One of the many!

Some sounded downright strange, a piercing scream of an exhaust note.

Yeah.. I know that's the theory, I ended up backing off the throttle early to scrub a little speed with engine braking before hitting the brakes.

As well as better fluid (Castrol SRF is the very best) see if you can fit some ducting to improve the cooling.

I was meant to be there but couldn't make it. Gutted as I really wanted to have a laugh at the Exige on here.

My mate was on track in a Red Civic EG with a green bumper. Looks like he's in the pits on your video.

Daft question: can you just turn up and watch at track days, if you aren't taking part?
