Can someone tell me which companies usually have trackdays at the ring for non road registered cars. I don't want a full on race car test session, just a trackday that allows race cars.
The vast majority of organisers seem to require car registration, even insurance/mot etc.
thanks

On the tourist days the road is a "de-restricted toll road" and hence the car must be road legal and insured etc. This is also why the police get involved in serious accidents.

If you want a track day then these are closed events and you should be able to run a non-legal car such as a race car or track day car. I have done a couple of days with Destination Nurburgring which were very good - there are others but it can take a bit of web surfing to find them.

Some companies organise trips to the ring which include driving in the tourist fahren (tourist laps) as mentioned above and hence require road legal cars.

In my view the TDs are much safer as they have flag marshals on the blind crests and bends which avoids greatly reduces the risk of running in to someone else's accident.

Are you sure about it being deristricted, TF still has speed limits, hence the limit signae at various areas such as the 50 at Breidscheid with the 70 down to it.
Closed road on track days.
Back to the original question-Not the ring but RSR have a two day event at Spa on the seventh and eighth if of interest. It is open to full race cars-o/taking either side and in braking areas. www.rsrspa.com

Yov've got the wrong end of the stick with what this fella is after, other than the UK operators such as DN running tds at 'ring most of the other offerings as he's found do require road legal vehicles, is an odd one from a uk track dayer perspective, but the euros do it for insurance reasons, there are some that don't, but the majority do.

Yes it is classed as a derestricted one way toll road.

There are 2 restricted areas within the lap at the track entrances for obvious reasons though.

With a 130kph max, because of not being classed as an Autobahn.

It is a bit of a grey area-until an accident that is , just as well the plod dont hide behind trees with thier speed guns at the ready.
