Hi,

I am booked in.

Just got back from hols, so my car has had zero prep.

Come over and say hi by all means.

Thanks,
Kam

What will you be driving Kam? I'll be in a 300zx. Got to change my exhaust over to my quiet one just to be safe, as my 'loud' exhaust was 105 at goodwood last year. I've heard of all sorts of wild readings at different tracks, so going for the safe option!

Thinking of seeing if I can get a place and heading up. Im in Cornwall so it's a bit of a trek. I'll see what mood the Mrs is in later. I'll be in my old E30 if I can make it.

I will be there in my Mk2.5 Mx5.

Yup, 105db will not pass.

I think its 96db ish, and the reader tends to read quite high (my stock car is 89db!).

Need to get my Alternator belt changed at a minimum as my car kept cutting out on longer runs!

Either get there early and bag an empty one, or book a garage in advance.

Winter trackdays are no fun at Brands when its raining.

I'll be there in my old Celica (ST202), with a buddy in his MK3 MR2, hopefully it stays free of the wet stuff as I've only got 4mm left on the front tyres. eek

I'm considering getting a pair of tyres fitted to my spare set of wheels (all have ancient rubber), what do you guys reckon?

If you dont use them this track day because its wet, you still will use them later anyway when the current set get too low for dry track days.

So nothing lost by buying early.

Lol at drinking your beer.

Re the wet: if its wet, 4mm will be fine at tyre wear will be fine.

Also, if its dry and you have spare rims, use your 4mm for the day - new tyres if not semi-slicks will overheat and chuck off rubber blocks.

All of this is coming from my Mx5, the ST205 may be totally different..

Tyres ordered, I came to the same conclusion Hol.

Only downside is having to settle for T1-Rs as my local tyre place doesn't stock my favourite brand. Lol

Henry I'm getting understeer with what's left on the tyres so a wet track will be a bit rubbish, last time I was at Brands it pee'd down and the tyres were in a similar state. Weren't much fun.

Cool.

T1-Rs have very soft side walls (you probs know this), so it dry expect the tyre to roll unless you get more PSI on the front left.

Either way, should be fun.

Hoping for a wet day, my Mx5 is much more fun.

Yup, I used to run them on my MK1 MR2 and they were ok, as you say the side walls are a bit too squidgy. They're not my 1st choice in tyre generally but it was the only one on my local tyre bod's list I recognised. laugh

Some day I'll get round to sorting out a set of track day tyres for the 202, then this won't happen.

Wet or dry now don't matter. biggrin

I ran some T1R's on my AWD Hatch just before Xmas and I found them alright.

They were 215/40/17's and I was running 34psi.

Was great to drive a new track today, especially when the track dried out after lunch. Nice to meet anybody who said hello. Sadly the day was cut a bit short by a dead clutch, but I was happy the the brakes, that I've finally got rid of the problems!

Sorry I didn't get to take you out for a spin Lime! Next time!

'Paddock' is mental. I will leave this here... http://youtu.be/qkXV3f4GO-A
