Nurburgring 17th-19th April

Take it easy and don't go steaming into blind corners. You will not have a clue where the track goes and what follows a blind entry.
R$R are great and the Swifts are good cars to learn the track in. I often instruct for R4R, you could always have a word with the guys there and ask if Roy could be available for the first few laps. Speak to Ralph or Freddy before you arrive to reserve some instruction. It is worth the few bucks it costs as gets you off on a better footing with the place.
Otherwise enjoy

I know the track very well from a ridiculous amount of hours spent on Gran Turismo as well as a fair few passenger laps, I've just never driven it myself. Of course this is very different!R$R are great and the Swifts are good cars to learn the track in. When you say ask if Roy is available, is that a service you can pay for, to have an instructor sit in, or is it a case of, if he's there, he may sit in?
Went last year twice (May and October) and didn't really play games much watched a few videos but what really surprised me once on track was the lack of vision for large parts with the rises and dives.
Just take it easy, much more enjoyable getting around in one piece knowing you can go again than binning it first lap I'm sure. Coming past Cockpit was where I nearly got caught out carrying to much speed into the dip which would of been highly amusing for all the spectators up above.
Make sure you try and beat your computer lap time

Like you I have done 100s of laps on GT and Forza, I reckon you will recognise up to carousel. After that you’ll be lost. However trust me the game and real life are miles apart. the game might allow you to know if you going to be turning left or right next but that’s about it. It will blow your mind the gradient changes and cambers.
Any how I will be out there, after a day at SPA when you are. I shall be in a Silver 06 plate mk3 MX5.

Sitting in the pax seat and driving can be very different things. But some people really do take to Touristenfarte very well. The games give an idea but do not rely on your gaming knowledge to make you a Ring-master. As for Instruction, R4R offer instruction for a small fee. Allways a good thing for even just the 1st lap you do, as you will be adjusting to the car after only driving it 400m to the track entrance. I am on their books as are some other guys but we can all be booked in advance if needed. Just email or speak to the guys in the office. Also we have done too many laps to even have an idea about how many we have done. The main thing we try to get across is lines and entry, mid, exit apexes along with some very good do's and dont's. I have been driving and riding the track since 1998.
