I can't make it now!

This Wednesday with Javelin. The day is listed as full.

Give them a call if you'd like my space (please say you are taking my space, Robin), as they have opened it up for someone else to book now. £139. Their number is 01469 560574

I made it in the end! I was in the red Elise with a honda lump in it smile

Other than the three hour window of wet tarmac the weather was brilliant in the end. I was a sissy and sat it out with a copy of evo. I'd picked the car up the night before with a complete new suspension setup and it was feeling quite twitchy, so I decided to stick with dry tarmac...

I did nearly blow the engine on the last session. A spring snapped on the gear lever mid session, meaning it wanted the gear lever to naturally sit across by 1st and 2nd. I found out about this when I shifted from 5th to 4th at about 100-120 and it was actually 2nd!!! I caught it as I was slipping out the clutch and thought it felt wrong. I tried twice, seeing 5k rpm each time before going to 3rd. The rear locked up a little. Hopefully no damage was done, it drove home fine and I’ve booked it in for an oil change next week.

I did wander over to look at the car wondered what was in it but you were not about saw the give away badge, it went very nicely.

I did a few wet laps (just to see) then it was a big deluge and came in for a longish lunch, track dried up pretty quick in the PM though, only my second trackday with the Elise and starting to get a feel for it and where the traction edge is, only a couple sketchy moments, at the end of Hamilton, to fast and bad line all over the place, then at bombhole in the wet no traction at all.

I really enjoy Snetterton it's shame it's such a trek for us.

Great day.
