What a busy weekend at the Nurburgring this weekend! A very expensive trip on my account too, but worth it to set my best time yet.

I know going to a TF day with time setting in mind will be frowned upon by some, by I'm getting ever closer to that sub8 barrier in my DC2.

Anyone else from PH there, other than those I spoke to?

Good lap mate, you have a very quick car there. you can get under 8 mins in that car easy, you are in too much of a hurry, slow your movements down so you do not miss gear changes, be smoother in your braking and focus on your lines more. Anyway good lap all said and done.

Cheers.....Tony..

Cheers Tony. I'm still getting used to the cars new setup! I had been using R888s all weekend too and that lap was done on my driving home wheels with Federal RSRs fitted. Didn't have half the confidence in them. I'll add that I think the odd squeak from the rear was down to the knackered old RSRs being on as I didn't have any of that with the 888s!

Was there too, in my black Z4MC.

Managed 33 laps over the 3 days, with Monday being by far the best.

Was surprised at how much grip there was on the Saturday morning though, as it looked really greasy. 4 or 5 laps later and it was fine (on/near the line) - except for the 2nd part of Hatzebach and Kallenhard (better grip if you stayed to the left).

Was also surprised at how quick the track was despite the sub-zero overnight temps and 1-3 degree opening time temps.

Was not surprised at the number of closures though, and had a couple of laps with 4 or 5 yellow sections where you'd have tossers in e92 M3s or GT3s come barrelling down on me despite having my 4-ways on and then seeing them slew sideways as they slam on their anchors.

So overall, a very good weekend biggrin

Got a trackday in November (Oulton Park) and then won't be back on track until April/May next year. Am seriously thinking about a Jahreskarte though as I think I've reached the break-even point now at 25-40 laps a weekend and 3 weekends a year.

was there myself also.

but I had hired the Swift on Saturday and Clio 200 on Sunday.

Sunday was a nightmare with the amount of accidents, the GT3 911 looked a right mess, and the 1.1 Saxo.. WTF was that about? any videos of it knocking about?

that was a great lap! pity you got held up a little by the Clio/458

you would be easy under 8 mins if you were at a track day and had less traffic about biggrin

does your car have some coloured bmw decals on the side? If so you were going really well!

Think I had a look around it at the diner in Adenau sat lunchtime.

The only decals on the side are the little M logos on the wing.

Mine was filthy and looks like this...

I was there too. In my 335d touring fresh from the factory! Put some pretty respectable laps (wet and dry) in for a diesel barge! A vid of the Saxo crash is on YouTube for anyone interested.

Just watched the video, what a tube! I had just come around the track to another yellow flagged lap and seen him stuffed at the side of the road a a load of oil on the track.

Wondered what happened to you Dan, went past loads of cars over the weekend. My own 360 died on Sunday morning, luckily had breakdown cover so flew home and waiting for the car to be transported back to Blighty.

Ah you must be a friend of a friend as a mate was showing me your video last night - Super effort!!!!!!

The K20, gear ratios/final drive combined with the LSD provide stunning results.

Some good driving there, very good effort to get a low 8min lap in a DC2.

My only criticism would be you are sometimes locking up on the downchange because of no heel-and-toe, exacerbated by the short gearing. On a FWD car you can get away with this, but on a RWD car you'd have a lively rear end.
