Has anyone used either of the following helmets:

The OMP seems to look like it covers your jaw better?

Sorry I've no advise but have been looking at the same helmets.

Sadly one of my local tracks has decided to insist on full face helmets.

I think many tracks are now insisting on full face if you are in a convertible, even with the roof up.

I personally would buy a full face so you don't limit yourself.

For the record, I actually bought that OMP Star as my first helmet. I now also have a V2Pro and never wear the OMP Star.

I looked at the same two for my first track day a couple of weeks ago and went with the Sparco. I prefered the look of the OMP but as it has no approval I though the OMP was a better bet.

It is comfortable, chin strap is a little fiddly but I am perfectly happy with it.

I tried these two on in Demon Tweeks a few months ago (had to ask them to get out of the back as they don't have them on display).

I thought they were probably decent value and you couldn't go far wrong with big name brands, but the fit was absolutely terrible for me. None of the sizes would have been anywhere near working. Whereas pretty much all of their other helmets (mostly £150+) would fit reasonably. The salesman said the budget lids were much more head-shape sensitive. They might work for you but I wouldn't buy unseen.

Might be worth forking out a bit more and get a bell mag star, good fit and comfortable and better quality.

You need to try a few different helmets before you make a decision. Motorsport exhibitions, Demon Tweeks or other motorsport shops are the places to go for a trial fitting.
