Good to meet you today, I was in the silver Mk2 MX5 with scruffy paintwork but couldn't keep up with you !
Nice to meet you too. Actually I think you came over to chat just as I was typing that post! Here's my video from from one of the sessions, if that interests you:

I was there yesterday, some of the worst weather conditions I have ever experienced on a track day. I have watched your video and very envious of how quiet the track was on that session. I was in the intermediate group which seemed to be dominated by several kamikazi Clio's. Indeed it was a bloody Clio that dumped a load of fuel or oil all the way down the main straight causing the track closure (and track time lost) that we all experienced. Having said that I did enjoy the day.
Cheers.....Tony..

I would've chosen the inters group but I booked last minute and the novice group was all they had left. It wasn't a big problem in the end as very few people in my group were slow enough to cause problems (of all things, the 991 GT3 was the worst culprit).Cheers.....Tony..
I was annoyed with the Clio to say the least! Apparently he hit the kerbs at the chicane and smashed his sump. Instead of coming straight into the pits, continued all the way down the main straight to Redgate, dropping all his oil in the process. Meant all groups lost a session. Also, our last session was only 10 mins instead of the 20. As I was sharing the driving with a friend we ended up with only about 45 mins of track time each which was disappointing.
I think next year I will do the novice group, the reason is that by and large the inter group was made up of "Track cars" like old clios and golfs which are not worth that much (controversial) and thereby have not much to loose if things go wrong, I was tiptoeing around in my s2000 trying to avoid the masses as such. In your group the cars seemed to be of a "better standard" so to speak and therefore the drivers were more carefull ! having said that the GT3 chap was extremely carefull
when I had a bit of space though me and a couple of mates really enjoyed it despite the weather.

It was an interesting first track day for me with the weather & oil including some dropped at Redgate in the first afternoon novice session - I got some video on a dash cam in this session which includes instruction from Don Hardman (one of the officials & previously raced Formula Ford & Formula 3) & some of his comments may help others. Unfortunately the dashcam doesn't show anything from in the car. I had a big moment at Coppice at 9 mins 18 into the video (13.42 real time) but stayed on the track unlike in an earlier session !
