First Track Day Advice...
Discussion
So, I promised myself I'm going to do my first track day this year.
I live in Flintshire, North Wales, so the obvious tracks are either the Anglesey Circuit or Oulton Park.
I want to get some tuition in, and know Oulton Park do this. I have driven around Oulton Park too, all be it with a maximum speed of about 40, but still...
My car is a 2005 Mini Cooper S.
Next week it's having MesiterR Zeta CRD+ coilovers, with adjustable top mounts, adjustable RCAs and adjustable drop links fitted. All being set up and tracking done by Lohen the Mini specialist.
Car has 4 pot Brembos with EBC TG discs, Carbotech XP8 pads and HEL Braided lines upfront, and pagid discs and pads on the rear. Running Motul RBF600 fluid too.
I think it's pretty much ready to go in terms of beginner track use. I've changed the oil for Motul 0w40 300v for the best protection.
My only concern are the tyres. Should I stick with the Kumho KU39s on for my first day, or get something better?
