I know this subject has been done before but I've not found any up to date information.

What's the latest opinions of where to buy trackday insurance and likely cost?

There are adds in the back of Autosport offering track day insurance. I imagine they're pricey.

Personally, I have a track day clause on my road car insurance policy. These don't seem to add anything to the premium but do have pretty high additional excess values i.e. £2000 on my Vantage. It was £1000 on my TVR. I don't bother with my MG ZR.

The only damage I've ever incurred on a trackday was sorted for £600 cash, so I think trackday insurance only really appropriate if you're thinking of writing off a high value car. weeping

Talk to Mannings UK - they include unlimited Trackday cover for UK tracks as part of your normal insurance. I found individual track day cover stupidly expensive.

Thanks guys. The one day costs do indeed seem to be "challenging".

I'm with Competition Car insurance and it includes track days so have never needed a separate policy.
I can't give any recommendations but there's insuremytrackday.com which is part of Ryan insurance, Moris and Reis - all insure track days.

Moris were significantly cheaper than anyone else for me, typically half the price of the next cheapest. you're still looking at £100 or so per day (maybe a bit less if you buy a multi-day policy).

I'm with Greenlight and they do TD insurance for £40 a day. I think that's only for existing policyholders though.

They're a very niche insurer though and target the hot hatch/modified market which suits me down to the ground but probably is no use for a lot of people on here. They're just not competetive on RWD stuff.

Sadly the one track in the UK they don't cover is Combe and that's where I'm off to tomorrow - Bugger. Given the cost and the excesses involved in getting a one day quote from other insurers I'll just accept the risk and fix it myself if the worst happens.
