997.1 C2S or E92 M3

I know that both cars have their engine challenges but have narrowed down the weekend/track car list to either an early 997.1 C2S or E92 M3.

Has anyone tracked either car and what upgrades were needed to make these competent and fun on track?

I'd get yourself over to the M3 Cutters forum and also the rennlist forum for detailed advice on each. If you're leaning towards an M3, perhaps tag along on a BMW Car Club track day where there are usually a good number being used on track with varying levels of modification who are a friendly bunch.

If you dont need the extra space or the need to own a v8 - the Porsche everyday.

A decent set of coilovers (Ohlins), upgraded pads (I ran PFC and loved them for road+track) and some semi sticky tires (cup 2s??) and your more than ready for the track
