Keevil hosts track day

Motorsport Events' day features big run-offs

Keevil circuit
Keevil circuit
A last-minute date has appeared on the Motorsport Events calendar.

Where: Keevil

When: Monday 1 August

As part of its summer calendar, and because it's at short notice, the company is offering the event at £69 per car and main driver, with passengers and extra drivers are charged at £10.

Keevil hosts an exciting 1.5 mile circuit with an excellent mix of corners to test any driver from the novice to the experienced. With massive run-offs and a very good surface, this is the perfect environment in which to learn your own and your car's limits.

The company will be running an open pit-lane format (at least 2.5 hours of track time is possible) and will have a team of highly experienced instructors on hand to offer in car instruction for just £25.

For further details or to book a place call 0870 787 2116 / 07855 482953 or use links below.

Done two of these days. It's actually quite a nice circuit with a couple of fast corners - better than some other airfield tracks. Great value too - loads of driving time for the money.

We're doing the fat albert stages at Keevil the day before this, trying to convince friends that 2 days of action is a good thing!!

yea.. just signed up to it.

which are the fast corners, (on the map) cause i did hullavinton before and that had a nice 70+ corner (just before the finsh).. and that nice 50+ 90 left bend before the chicane.

Any comments if its a better track that hullavinton, and speeds down the striaght.. as i got up to about 110+ in my s2000 down the straight before the off camber (fun) 180..

Yeah, I did Keevil last november in my track prepared Polo G40, it was a really good day, the staff were on hand to offer advice on techniques to use, best lines etc.

Noise wise, limit was 100dB, I was 94dB so just alright.

We had a drivers briefing and did a convoyed recce lap before we got on with the good stuff.

It was a good flowing smooth track layout albeit abrasive on my tyres. Dont know if its changed now though.
I got upto 125mph on the straight after the start/finish, and was able to take the corners very quickly indeed.

Joe

It's probably a more interesting layout particularly now with a chicane halfway down the main straight (not shown on Map), surface is a little worse than Hullavington in terms of loose bits particulaly off line or if it's wet

For the price you can't really go wrong

100 dba isn't too strict, certainly most standard road cars and all but the noisiest Caterhams and the like should be OK. And there's no drive-by.

Keevil is a great venue, I much prefer the layout to the one at Hullavington.

Yeah, they dont bother with drivebys, they just do the 3/4throttle dB test.
