I'm considering buying a dedicated track day car - most likely a stripped out/caged 205 GTi.

I'll be wanting to drive to and from circuits, so it'll need to be road legal, however I imagine that the insurance companies will be rubbing their hands in glee (I've heard that they generally hate roll cages in road cars).

Can anyone recommend any companies that specialise in this sort of thing (ie, limited road mileage plus track cover)?

thanks in advance

btw, I've seen a few 205 Stock Hatch cars up for sale - are these generally road-legal (other than the slick tyres of course)?

Hi.

I've got a 205 with an Mi16 engine in it. The car is fully stripped and has a 10 pt cage in it.

Send me a PM and I'll let you know the broker I use and who underwrites the policy. Everything is declared, but it was hard work to gain cover!
