Im an ex pat living in SW of France, dying to explore some of the French tracks next year. I always found it much more fun to go along with a group of other like mindeds in the UK, so is anyone coming out here I could meet up with?

Whereabouts in SW France and which tracks? I'm in the 66 region and there's not a lot here, to be honest. You might find a few more people in the French section of Pistonheads.

I live in Geneva and have booked Circuit de Bresse for 4 Aug, and Spa for 4 Nov. First time for both.

Lotus-on-track do a lot of french track days but you'll need a 2-seater sports car to be allowed on them! I expect their days will always have the highest amount of english speakers. Worth considering getting a MX5 for...

That’s the circuit de val de Vienne. A great circuit with plenty of track days. They do about three open days per year.
There are various trackway organisers on Facebook that use the circuit.

Speed monster

There’s lots more also.

Has anyone done trackdays at Clermont Ferrand/Circuit de Charade? Looks like a lovely strip of tarmac, wouldn't mind doing a few laps there..

Yep, like a mini nurgurgring, quite technical, suits fast and smaller cars, chopping and changing. Would do it again, en route to spa as well..

I don’t even think you can use an MX5 with them anymore mate, not as far as I could tell from the booking small print.

Always worth dropping them an email explaining your situation and experience.

Yep, not really SW France but done a few trackdays at Charade. It is well worth it, awesome place.
As mentioned, Nürburgring like in places with concrete walls and no run-off. Turn 1 is ballsy!

Near to there also is Mas Du Clos, another great track.

Yip I've done it, awesome awesome track, a must do, the roads around it used to be the longer circuit & you can tell! Val de Vienne too which I wouldn't hurry back to, Mas Du Clos whch I liked, its all about the location for that one, & Dijon which is another awesome one, I'm pondering doing Mas & Dijon this yr again with LOT
