Anyone have first hand experience of an Astra J VXR on track please? I would prefer a RS Megane but these Astras look generally to be cheaper with less mileage, I believe all come standard with recaro's and LSD, so wondering where the drawback is. I'm sure there's a reason, but not looking for any badge snobbery please.

I can't find a lot of info online for how these handle on track. I've been to numerous track days and never seen one.

I am afraid I have no idea on Astras but both Megan and Clio RS are excellent. Highly recommended !

Had a 13 Plate J VXR, never took it on track, but enjoyed it, very capable and underrated car.

The Astra always gets decent reviews (eg: https://www.evo.co.uk/vauxhall/astra-vxr ) so the value is purely down to 'brand snobbery' for good or ill.

I was having a look at these and they look good, LSD, Brembos, good seats, decent power, lot of aftermarket support, and you can get a new/lower mileage car for the money.
For me the concern is about when it's doing daily duties and the rear looks small, dark and cramped, but that's not going to be an issue for anyone who isn't going to use it to carry their family around.
