Any other PH folks going?

My first time at Oulton and it looks like it's going to be a wet one.

Cheers
Andy

Ah, only just seen your post now. Yeah, busy afternoon after the rain stopped. Few red flags on the day, but generally a good standard of driving I thought.

Raining cats and dogs here (in Liverpool) today so I assume it’s the same at Oulton.

To be honest I have more fun in the wet buzzing round in my Suzuki Swift smile

Yours the silver one by any chance? I spotted it on track and was itching to get out and chase it down in mine lol Decided against it in the end. Was bad this morning but dried later on over this way

Yeah that was me in my Copart car! Have you got a Swift too? I saw a rent4ring one parked up which was very impressive, but I couldnt find the owner to chat to.

Had you booked on for the day or do Javelin give the option to book on the day?

Thats my car. I was on a half day from work and few friends where on the day so popped over. Was going to book on but decided not to bother as few bits still to do to the car.

Ah excellent. Sorry if it's a stupid question, but is yours actually a former ring car or have you made it as a tribute? I saw it had a custom gear shift, and a very nice set of alloys. What other mods does it have?

It was bought from R4R so is an actual car from them. I've owned it 5/6 years I think now maybe more. Only one in the uk apart from one in scotland that was used to race but hasnt been seen for some time.

Yes I've a CAE shifter. Its far from standard i'd be here all day with the list of modifications to be honest lol

No worries, I know the R4R cars were seriously modded to cope with the demands of the Ring with ohlins suspension, and all sorts of bits and bobs. I imagine it absolutely flies as it’s a track weapon!

Total other end of the scale of swifts to my one which was a cat n which I bought from copart.

Interesting thumbup

I hired one in 2013 and it was brilliant fun and very modified. Brakes were savage with the Endless pads, to the point where there was no time to heel&toe! The ESP was crude, I thought something was wrong with the car when it cut in and it took a couple of phone calls to R4R to figure out what was going on hehe

From R4R its got money spent in the right places, safety, suspension, brakes. I mean the R4R cars are standard engines, exhausts and brake lines (no braided lines!)

Yes once you turn ESP off it can still kick in and no way to stop it sadly but the endless pads are amazing and last. I've just replaced them on mine with a eye watering bill but worth it imo
