Anyone know, or have any views on this car?

Thinking about the following as cheap trackday fun, anyone owned one of these things?

Looks like a lot of money has been spent on it and all it needs is a cage.
Your thoughts welcomed.

It sounds good. I would just judge it from condition, quality of the work carried out and a detailed look at all the invoices to make sure all the parts are new or recent and still present on the car.
Decent competition seat/s may be needed, fire extinguisher (system if you can afford it), suspension set up; sounds good value to me.

I respectfully disagree. Purely based on my own experiences FWD has a limited shelf life for trackdays. I can see how it matters little when in a race series and everyone is on a level playing field but trackdays are different. No matter how fast you are in your FWD car it's always going to be frustrating to follow a well driven RWD car out on track and know in your heart of hearts that the guy is having more fun than you and looks cooler to boot.
Try a Metro with a VVC 160bhp engine and modified suspension. You will not believe how fast they go and how well they handle. And they are dead cheap to put tegether and fix if you break it.

Can't really argue with ya there, a good point & well put.
yes a CRX is a lot of fun on the track
The one you have listed has had a fortune spent on it but you dont need to spend money on a lot of those things to have a good fun reliable track day car. Its well over priced for a crx - you'd have to be a the worlds greatest CRX fan to justify spending that on a CRX.
There is a CRX for sale near Brighton that is fully track/sprint prepared, its a 1988 1.6 16v Mk1 that is competiton prepared with roll cage etc for sub £2k was going to buy myself for track days, well worth considering.

Its all a question of fun per £, whether its FWD or RWD.
You won't look cool when you are blown off by an old skool spaceframe Mini!

Maybe not as cool, granted...but whatever you drive there's nearly always something faster out on track so you soon get over it and drive to the limits of your own car. Then you discover how long the fun per £ argument holds up for you.
