Planning on going to the nurburgring 24 hours next June. Does anybody know the best ferry route to take. Ideally dont want to go all the way down to Dover as we're travelling from the midlands. Seen that stenaline go from harwich to the hook of holland but cant get any prices off their site at the moment.
Any info on good crossings/routes to the ring will be much appreciated.

Bham to the ring is about 7 hours of driving time. (excluding waiting for and sitting on the train )
Ashford is only 2 1/2 hours away from Bham, why chug along on a boat when you could be half way across france after being on the train?

Fair point Doctor Pepper and Eurotnnel looks cheaper as well. How about driving outes on the other side. Any spectacular places to stop off at or traffic hotspots to avoid? Cheers.

the quickest from cheshire has been via the tunnel, cheapest has been via norfolk line but its 2hrs to dunkirk from dover but £64 return compared to £130 + (tunnel).

tunnel can be as cheap if you go at 1am and return at some equally unsociable hour
harwich always seems a long way and a long time on the ferry

driving through belgium is easy but poor scenery, roads easy to navigate usual hold ups at major cities depending on what time you go
