Found pagid's very good in the past. I use those hawk 9012 blue pads o nthe race car, not too expensive seem to last quite well, but i ony have a light car. Only down point is they make your wheels very dirty, I have rust embeded in the inner rim of my alloys. steer clear of those ??????stuff pads they are made of chocholate, same old thing though pay peanuts, you get monkey's.......
I've used DS2500's in the past on my Legnum VR4. They pulled it up very well. Currently got some Mintex 1144's on my 205 and they worked well at Cadwell last week with only a slight bit of fade occuring towards the end of the day. When I buy again though i9'll prolly get some DS3000's for track only use.
As for discs, something grooved will help keep the pads from glazing over, but as has been said above they're not too important in the great scheme of things.
