Nurburgring "some help please"!!!

hi just bought an M5 and want to go to the nurburg but i have never been. The way people speek on this site i get the impression that there are only specific days you can go is this true? do they have amatuer days or guides for the track or do you just pay the toll, put your foot to the ground and hope for the best. please help how do i do it!!!
