Hi all

I am thinking of starting to go on a few track days (never done one before). Any recommendations for good tracks/companies to start with? Personal recommendations would be good, but also if there are any generally highly recommended.

preferably places with big run-offs! (aifield, etc) as I don't want to stuff my car! eek

Someone else asked this recently: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=18&t=431038  might answer your question, too.

I always find B&Q car park a good starting point on Sunday evening if only those damn Vaux Corsas would not keep shooting past me with flames coming out of the tail pipes!

If you are going in your 996 C2, get it checked out before you go - discs, pads, tyres etc. Also might be worth upgrading your brake fluid at a minimum.

Thanks driverrob. Looks like Bedford for a good 'starter-for-ten'. Any other recommendations from anybody?

How easy would Castle Combe be, as I am not too far from there?

I wouldn't recommend Castle Combe to be honest. There's a couple of tricky corners with not much run-off. Search youtube for Castle Combe + impreza and you'll probably find a video of a tank slapper on the last corner ending up in the Arnco.

Fun track though.
