silverstone 27th september
Discussion
Hi to everyone firstly, i've just joined the site. Recently went to the gold track day at silverstone. Me and my dad have just started track days in a Radicak SR4 1300cc. Thursday was our first track day and our first drive in the radical. Ive never driven anything other than my transit van, so its rather a step up for me! Obviously I was in group 1 and exceedingly slow. Maybe some of you remember passing me at great speeds, I was in the little red SR4 Radical. I think it was the only SR4 as all the other radicals were SR3's I think. Hoping to do another one there soon as Ive got a lot to learn.
Welcome! There is a thread for that day already here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
That is a seriously fast car for your first track day vehicle! What made you choose that?
Yeah I remember my client passing you a few times, if you ever need any instruction, give me a shout...
Enjoy

The choice wasnt really down to me, it was my dads choice though I support the decision wholey. It feels incredibly fast to me at the moment and im sure it is capable of an awful lot that will take hours and hours of track time to work up to. Thanks for the offer of instruction, I will bear it in mind for sure. I was completly exhausted by the end of the day, trying to learn to drive a fast car and drive silverstone for the first time too. I woke up the next day itching to get back on the track though.

Yeah, it is a seriously quick car; quite a few of my clients have them! You have really got to learn how to use the downforce in the corners and have the confidence to carry the speed into the corners.Sean Edwards said:

It is a physical car to drive all day long and very mentally tiring for your first track day, especially at the speed everything comes at you in that thing!
Pop me an e-mail for my track day spread sheet, as it will be handy for you, have fun
