Has it been reduced? Bookatrack's email about this Saturday says the limit is 100dB static. I thought it used to be 101dB? Think I could be marginal on this.

The static at Bedford is a bit of a red herring, if you fail it they will generally let you on the circuit but with a red sticker, especially if it's marginal. If you are subsequently pulled in for being too loud on the circuit as measured by the drive by noise meters then you have one chance to modify the car to get it quiet enough before you go home.

The drive by at Bedford is 87dB with the noise meters 20m back from the edge of the track, there are four of them in total on the GT circuit. Unfortunately conditions can play a significant role - a very cold day with nice dense air is going up your noise. Wind direction can also have an effect.

In general a GT3-RS is OK at Bedford, we manage to get the CSR260 through during the summer but it's a lot more marginal at this time of year.

Ted will be in his normal Porsche 996 GT3 RS I think.

On my spead sheet it's 101,

Book a Track website is also 101,

87½dB Drive-By noise limit from 20m.

Hope the weather improves. A huge squall came over about 20 minutes ago; it hailed very briefly.

(I'm about 20 minutes from the Autodrome. I can see the old Thurleigh Airfield control towers from my back garden.)

I was late booking this event and then it dawned on me why I tend not to book Bedford after september.
I have had instances where the ground fog is so bad you sometimes don't get on track until after 11.00am, has anyone been recently and able to comment on the current fog situation?...cheers smile

Hmm yep I was a tad worried about that - got RSRs on my 993 and am going to be marginal.

Will be wandering over for a chat with you both at some point, you can't miss me I'm the 993 driver with a beard :-)

Mr PetrolTed, I'm planning to beg you for a passenger lap or two if you wouldn't mind, just to see you these up-to-date jonny-come-lately Porkers go :-)

It's been fine the last couple of days, and it's fine right now, and the forecast is good for tomorrow.

Perhaps I should point a webcam out of the window?

Let's pray for no fog.

I'll be there in silver/grey BMW Z4 M Coupe. See you tomorrow bright and early.

Yes, normally canteenish affair open for breakfast pre trackday and lunch,,,plenty of pubs nearby etc..
Lunch is best avoided as extra weight can have an adverse effect on bhp/kg ratio for the afternoon session smile
