Where did you get your driving boots/shoes from?

If you just want driving shoes, I heartily recommend Puma Speedcats. You can get them from any normal shoe shop (or online, ebay etc); having driven Caterhams, Lotuses etc in them for years.

We've got a few pairs of Puma Speedcats left in stock - sadly mainly in small sizes (http://bookatrack.com/-pp?1355). Priced to sell at £22.50 inc VAT & shipping. These are non-flameproof by the way - but great for driving as they've got such thin soles.

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys, I like the look of the fire retardant sparco mid boots at the moment. Where have people bought theirs from.

I saw them Jonny and would have liked to give you my money and not have made this post, but sadly I am a uk size 10.

Cheers,

Olly

I got mine from Demon tweks. You mean the suede mid-boots from Sparco? I got some in blue. I think they were £60. Best piece of kit I own. though I do worry about them in the wet.

I don't know if you're racing/trackdays or whatever, but for racing my Fury, a decent set of race boots/shoes is the only bit of kit I'd not do without. make sure they're just on the snug side of tight.

edit: here's my boots: linky

.. another vote for Demon Tweeks - I've got Sparco boots and they are extremly comfortable, allow great feel through the pedals and of course contain Nomex so are fire resistant.

Demon Tweeks. May not be cheapest but a lot of stuff in stock and extremely quick delivery. I got Oakleys which seem to suit my feet and pedals pretty well.

Worry about them in the wet? In what way? Do they slip a lot on the pedals, or are you just talking about the discolouration of the suede?

Must say, my speedcats when wet are lethal on the pedals; really slippery, but a quick rub on the carpet sorts it.

That is with Lotus pedals though which are flat aluminium (not engraved or roughed up at all)

Mine were also Demon Tweaks - I went for the Adidas Feroza. I am very happy indeed with them, but it wasn't as I had much of a choice due to the size...

Anyway - if you have sensible sized feet I would recommend the Autosport/PH show as the place to buy - several suppliers will be there and will have fairly extensive stocks that you can try on before buying. If you need clown sized boots like me then you will have to mail order though.

I got some speedcats of a bloke on ebay recently.
- There a size10 and i think i needed the 11, but other than that there corking for £30.
- Not actualy FIA approved do dah, and not supper-thin soles. But it depends what you want.
