I'm hoping next year to get myself a track toy as I don't want to risk my TVR. Looking to spend anywhere between 2 & 4k and have some hankerings for a Sierra Sapphire Cosworth. Any thoughts on what these are like?
I want something reliable, good handling and relatively quick/tuneable. I'm a total novice to track days so something that has cheap replacement parts/panels would also be good in case the inevitable happened...
I loved the cossies whan I was a lad hence my thoughts on one now...

I think reliability would be the biggest problem with one of these, I would imagine most of them have been tweaked by amateurs fitting bleed valves and running them to within an inch of their lives!!

Brilliant car Tony and great on track - although on the budget you are talking of they will be pretty much used and abused examples. They have a tendancy to do head gaskets time and again if not done right and this costs.

I like you style though - good choice.

Thanks for the replies chaps - may give them a miss then unless my potential budget goes up a lot more. If I could ever afford it I'd love an RS500 - but at 15k upwards for a decent example it'll have to wait...

I'll carry on looking at 200sx' and MR2s in that case.

No genuine Caterfields at that money but the odd Tiger/Locust type thing.
