It will depend on a number of factors really:

1) How much tread you go with;
2) How many laps you do;
3) How hard you drive;
4) How much abuse you give the tyres;
5) The weather

I've done 3 days on road tyres at Oulton, Anglesey & Donington in a 2 tonne barge and only had to change one tyre after that - lucky I had my spare then.

If you like sliding around every corner then you're going to wear your tyres quicker than if you do smooth (but quick) laps.

If it's wet, then you'll hardly use any tread as you'll be going slower and it'll be like driving on a wet A road.

A problem you might have if you do the full day, is finding somewhere open, with your size tyres in stock when you leave at 5pm, and who are willing to fit them there and then. Don't forget, if you're needing tyres after a track day, then you might be driving to the tyre fitters on baldy tyres - so check your tyres after every session and don't be tempted to fit 'just one more' session in.

In the past (especially when I've done an airfield day), I've taken my own spare tyres along with me, and left a bit early to get to a fitting station so that I could drive home on legal tyres. This way I've got the tyres if I need them and if I don't, I've not messed about any local fitter by ordering them but not using/buying them.

p.s. I'm at the Oulton Park one - was really hoping for an Anglesey one though.

I used to use -

Falkham Tyres 27-31 Main Rd Longfield, DA3 7QT. 01474 702209

when I lived a few miles from them. Always did a good job at a reasonable price.

BH is not particularly hard on tyres (done 6+ TDs there), providing you have 4-5 mm of tread left and you do not understeer around all the bends you should be OK. The fronts will probably wear most so you might want to consider a front/rear swap at some point if they start to look a bit low.

Just a few hundred yards outside of the main entrance is a texaco petrol station and opposite that is a tyre place "Formula 1 Brands Hatch". I suppose you could call in advance if you needed a particular tyre etc and they are convenient .. . details here : http://stores.ebay.co.uk/FORMULA-ONE-Brands-Hatch-...

As for whether BH Indy is a particularly great tyre eater I would suspect much depends on your car and your driving style ... still many thanks for the great job you guys do and I hope you enjoy yourself driving

Thanks for that guys!!
Forgot about the place by the Texaco garage, been there many times for camping grub!!!

Well, it's the end of the month, so if it's not covered in snow it'll be wet, might get some new ones before I go, and keep a couple of the old tyres and bring them just incase, otherwise I'll be checking every tyre in the tyre wall to find my size, as they are a bit of an odd size!

I can't wait, Thanks Mr Palmer!!

Brands isn't a tyre eater, and you'll certainly have loads of fun!
