Hi, Just booked the hotel (Hotel An Der Nordschleife) for 19th - 21st July. This will be my first time at the ring so I'm after any tips you can offer. I've already read Ben Lovejoys 1st class website but I thought the more info I can get, the better. Thanks for any advice!

You'll have a great time! If you're a track regular then remember that this is a place for a different kind of driving than most circuits over here - ie, no room for any error at all. Be smooth, take late apexes until you know the corners, use your mirrors (particularly for bikes - if you haven't shared track space with them before it is eye opening). In the wet keep off the line as it's slippery has hell. Take plenty of time between laps to discuss things and make your next lap even more enjoyable. Sit in the cafe and soak up the atmosphere. It's the best place in the world.

Thanks for the advice. I've been wanting to do it for years, but have been unable to do it for one reason or another. But this year is different.. No worries about trying to be a hero.. I won't be looking at lap times at all, because any car I have is my pride & joy and I don't want to bend it (or the crash barrier)!

Oh...and make sure you take the time to go and view. There are many good spots which are quite easy to get to. And others that are even better but involve trekking/off-roading through forests. Well worth it though before you drive then also great as a wind-down at the end of the day.
