Goodwood Trackday 25th February 2008

As part of an Isle of Wight Car Club I am holding a Trackday at Goodwood on Monday 25th February. The day was intended to be for club members and close friends but we have failed to get the required people to break even on this event.

Basically we need 3 more attendees to make sure we do not fall short, if you are interested then please email me and I can give you more details regarding the day and how to pay etc.

The day will be run as a 10 car 98dB semi open pit day and there will be 30 cars in attendance, Total cost is £200.

Due to the numbers the day is low volume with masses of tracktime and a great way to enjoy the mighty Goodwood Circuit.

hiya

I might be interested - but how 'semi open pit' are we talking? Last time I was there it was a full sessioned day, and they tun 15min sessions so its 15minutes on, 45 minutes off - based on a queue so I got short-changed on my sessions cos I had to run for petrol frown

I know they limit the number of cars on track (98dB sounds like 10 at a time?) - so is it Open Pit just queueing until the 10th one comes off and the next one goes out? (one-in-one-out, so to speak)

cheers

Unfortunately this is the issue with Goodwood, I am going to try and get them to let 1 in and 1 out if a car comes in early on. I set the lengths of the sessions I am going for 20 mins this time as apposed to the 15 that most trackday organisers run. Because we are running 10 less cars than is normally run you will not have as long to wait.

On our last day at Goodwood I managed to cover 150 miles on track so you really will get value for money.
The whole semi open pit lane issue at Goodwood will always rumble on, people think it is sessioned but it is not as you are not ever assigned a session, you can go out as soon as you hit the front ten of the queue which later in the day normally means you can go round and round without queuing.

Drop me an email if you are tsill interested.

Cheers

30 cars at Goodwood is not 'semi-open-pit' it's 'informal sessions' which is the worst type in my opinion - at least with a proper sessioned day you don't have to sit in a queue for 45 minutes - you can wander off and get fuel, grab some food, take a dump etc

That said - you should get more time later on in the afternoon assuming a few people go home early.

The option is there for me to make formal sessions but everybody involved loved the way it went last time so I think it will stay that way again.

the main downside for me was losing my place in the queue (no way i can make a tank of fuel last a whole morning or afternoon frown

I'll let you know if I can make it - its the only circuit near to me and £200 for the day is loads cheaper than the circuit-organised days.
