Its my first posting on here and after some advice please.

Having done lots of track days in MK2 Escorts and Opel Manta's i now have a e30 325ise.

The car runs on 15'' alloy wheels, does anyone know what other wheels will fit correctly as i want some cheap ones to put on the car. Have been told golf gti ones fit but would have thought being fwd the offset would be all wrong.
Bmw wheels seem to be to much and they are only going to get ruined anyway so am not to bothered how they look.

The wheels i have on now are 15'' with 4 studs.

Many thanks

Paul

Why would your wheels get ruined on a trackday? Unless you crash, there's nothing to damage them!

I don't know how much you think is too dear, but you should be able to pick a set of e30 wheels (14s or 15s) for £100 - what tyres are you thinking of buying, or do you assume the wheels will come with a free set of 'track ready' tyres?

I have done trackdays for years and spending a full day drifting around a dusty airfield or not so smooth circuit knocks hell out of the wheels with stone chips etc.

I know i can pick up a set of spares for about £100.00 but just wanted to know if any other wheels fit in case i need one in a hurry and to carry as back ups.

On a good trackday i can use 6-8 rear tyres drifting ( if the organisers allow us to play) the car and at least 4 on the front so being able to buy cheap alloys would be good.

really? that many tyres in one day?
8 on the rear and 4 on the front?

have you driven at a normal track day?

or are you talking about drifting days which are two very different things.

Have done drift days but at the airfield trackdays such as Elvington you can let your hair down and have fun. The organisers are quite happy to let you drift as long as you know what you are doing and the noise level is not overly high.

Its very relaxed day, well organised and not to 'stuffy' with you can't do this and that.

pcd and offset (and 4 stud!) matter.

Golf 15 inch aftermarket wheels fit fine, I run 2 golf sets on my e30 tracker, but all depends what offset you get, smaller number is what you want, i.e lower than golfs regular 38, which is a bit too narrow track for the bimmer, both are aftermarket 15 inchers, best off with bimmer wheels if you can get em tho.

You wont last a session till you are blackflagged if you try drifty drifty at normal track days tho, MSE a bit more leinient as its airfields, but pi$$ off the other punters or spin a couple of times & they will have a word tho, but generally your not gunna get away with it on real circuits, unless its a club booking or somat

The trackdays you mentioned aren't really decent trackdays. I think what rallycross means is have you done any trackdays on a Palmer track etc. If not you should and it will be more productive for your driving skills and save your tyres. I fancy a e30 myself for on the track, what mods have you done?

Hello mate. Lizard's advice is good!

I run a E30 335, great track tools. Ideal with your history.
