Ferrari 355..will it pass the noise test at Nurburgring?
Discussion
With a standard exhaust & cats, will it pass?
Surely this is road legal & therefore ought to comply with this "toll road"
However, I was static metered at 100db at 3/4 max.rpm at Goodwood last year.
Are there any tricks to get passed (lower the revs etc)!
Am booked to go for my first visit in May & don't want to be thrown off....
Worried!

You'll be fine.
Official limit is 95dbA but they seem to let people by with up to 100. Their measuring process can be a little random though.
Mostly they only test those who are obviously very loud, or acting like a cock so don't draw attention to yourself by revving it up or speeding around the carpark & access roads.
Trundle up the barriers and if you're really worried make sure you're well down the straight before opening it right up.
I've seen plenty of F355 there who weren't having a problem, and lots of things much louder with non standard exhausts not tested either.
Have fun
should be no probs. I have had a car on there that has measured 107 static with no probs. Didn;t realise there was a noise limit at the time. I have seen them testing young lads cars and subarus etc. with large bore tailpipes. I don;t think they would expect a Ferrari driver to go out and cause trouble.

The marshals are requiring the car to be revved to 3,500 RPM regardless of redline. One marshal watches the tachometer to be sure that you are a the required revs. The noise meter is held pretty much at the exhaust level at approximatlely a 45 degree angle to the left. The distance from the tailpipe seems to be rather random from a couple feet to maybe a couple metres.
I would suggest that anyone contemplating a trip to the Nürburgring with a potentially loud car test their car under similar conditions.
I was noise tested in a very quiet car on Sunday. The reading was less than 90 dBa...

Hi, how do many of the TVRs get on noise wise at the ring? A few friends and I are contemplating a trip over there and my Cerb is fairly loud. I've never had it measured and I still have the CATS in.
Really don't want to go over there and get turned away.
A load of Cerbs went over last year and a few got turned away. Best advice is to crawl through the barriers with very low revs and don't give it large untill well away from the start.Really don't want to go over there and get turned away.
