Hi All
First post on the forum biggrin , going to get some much needed driving instruction with Sean Edwards as I am a 3 week old TVR Griffith owner with much to learnhehething is I am not entirely sure wether my Griff will be under the Abingdon airfield noise level restrictions of 100db.Its a standard 98 Griffith 500 with cat's, only thing modified is it has slightly larger exit exhaust pipes which I don't think make much of a difference sound wise.Anyone measured Griff 500 sound levels for track day purposes? or has any one in the surrey area got a sound level meter for a quick test... any excuse to get out and about in the car biggrin
Many thanks

Find out if there is a track day local to you (Brands Hatch?)before the Abingdon date and go along. I am sure they will do a sound test for you

I've been measures at 98/ 99 db with a standard Grif 500. If you are really worried you can buy bolt on silencers for the day, try ACT products but do take into account you have widened your exhausts as the standard ones may not slide on so easy.

A standard Griff exhaust should be under 100db easily, my last one was until I ran straight through pipes. As other advice, if in doubt get it checked first.

I was at Abingdon the other day with Motorsport events. There were a bunch of TVRs there, although no Griffins or whatever they're called, moer like tuscans and a sagaris (I think - don't know much about tvrs I'm afraid!). None of them seemed to have any problems noise wise.

If it is an MSE day I'm sure that you could call them and check what their past experience has been, they are very helpful and friendly.
