They look like rally tarmac stage tyres, which from what I've heard to not stand up well to being pushed hard on circuits.

Could be wrong though.

If you're looking to save money, try Kwik fit or independent tyre retailers. They usually let you have what you want from the scrap pile if you ask nicely. They pay to have them taken away, so it's no money loss for them. I have a pair of RE050's a pair of P-zero asimmetricos and a full set of sportcontact2's all for free. They're all on the wear indicators though, so a spare set of wheels if you're driving there is essential to avoid the law.

I get all mine from there, but I benefit from having a very common size 225/45R17, and everything from BMW's to chavved up corsas can run them. Judging by those available sizes, you don't have that luxury.

I have them on my spare wheels. They're OK, but nothing more. Given the small price difference between them and R888s i wouldn't bother. They need to seriously rethink their pricing now that the big players are getting into the cheap track tyre market (RB5 should be <£30 realistically).

My main problem with them is the poor construction, mine took several attempts to balance with one returned and replaced being 120grams out.

I've had a similar tyre on my track car. Indysport TR. Compared to R888s there's not a lot in it for me, they might even be better in terms of ultimate grip but it's hard to be objective having never done a side by side test. But my car is light and doesn't work tyres too hard.
