Did anyone here do Lydden Hill at the weekend?
Discussion
We went for the first time and had quite a good day - would be interested to hear other people's thoughts, as I'd only done Snetterton and Brands before, and this was quite different, but nice different! Was a little busy early on, but there were quite a few broken cars by the end of the day.
There was a slammed and roll-caged Nova there which managed to flip and barrel role into the tyres at quite some speed (cocked the rear inside wheel, and it just kept on lifting), which I had a great view of being the next car behind... Luckily it had a roll cage, and although I didn't see the driver afterwards, his brother said he had nothing more than dented pride.
There were a good range of cars and people there, and had a good chat with some other folk, who were all very relaxed and laid back. All in all, a good day and an interesting little circuit which when not driving you can actually see the majority of the track from standing in one place.
There was also free instruction available, which was helpful just to understand the lines.
A nice selection of cars with everything from Caterhams to a lovely Esprit and some retro Ford Escorts, original Astra and Alfas.

Which corner? Probably Paddock Bend, there's a nasty camber change there. I was sprinting at Lydden on the 14th June. Nice circuit, I like it a lot.not seen this track before - this looks like an ideal circuit for a bit of, erm...sideways action in the rwd beemer! is "drifting" allowed round the corners on one of their own trackdays or is it frowned upon like at most circuits. it's just that i have an old set of tyres that are just dying to be "finished off"

Only ever done 6-7 laps but Paddock Bend is the trickiest to get right doubt I got it spot in the 3 Timed runs but hey. I was there too Yellow S2 111S, 86.2 or something can't remember.
I'm not sure as a Trackday venue it would work due to the numbers required, from what I'm told it is quite expensive to hire for the day when compared to the bigger recognised circuits. Fun circuit though

Next weekend they are running 4 sessions per hour, one of which is dedicated for drifting IIRCGassing Station | Track Days | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
