For anyone starting out on a trackday career, please don't drive like this Mini driver I had the misfortune to meet on track.

Surely most of the things you are moaning about ie overtaking coming into a corner are exactly what you were attempting to do when you left the track.....he is as fast as you on the straights, gives you opportunity to pass at circa 3.00 but is quicker into the corner and then you laugh when he overcooks it!! Wonder if he laughed when you left the track earlier......what goes around comes around eh!!

are you blind? Did I not start to overtake at the beginning of the straight? Do you even know trackday rules?

i thought the person in lead had the line, and not the guy trying to get in front, which was you

I watched that twice, and saw nothing wrong with his actions.
you seemed to be erratic, not very smooth and in areas i thought you were the one causing problems

if you really thought this person to be so bad, can i ask why you were right on his tail through the last few corners?

when you left the track, it was because you were not in control, and on the outside of HIS line

Have you ever done a trackday? Do you realise it's not racing?

Ok, I'll be serious for a minute.

You couldn't pass him on the straight, and despite your subtitles he seemed faster through the corners, if somewhat odd on the brakes. If he had done what you wanted and let you through, he would just have been stuck behind you. And it would be his video we are watching tonight.

I wonder if he taped your 'off'?

i have done many.

so why were you trying so hard to overtake? the only time your script mentioned problems, were when you were trying to pass wasn't it?

the time you left the track, was when you were trying to overtake.

think you just hung yourself with your last comment myself

It's a track prepped E36 328i. Thanks for asking.

And T Pot, I was on his tail since he would not let us pass and due to the fact that the blue flag was, for some unknown reason, not operating on the night.

If you think he was faster in the corners, you need your eyes and ears testing.

And you could not pass a poncy hairdressers mini cab in your "track prepped" 328i?

id get your money back for the track prep work, if it couldn't outrun a mini mate lol

as you pointed out, a track day is not a race, and you obviously felt he was dangerous, yet persisted to try and race him. and put you, your passenger and anyone else in risk of accident by trying.

learn to drop back, and enjoy the road more in a better frame of mind.

still, i do not see the mini driver at fault sorry mate. in fact, his off could have been caused by your driving and the fact that seeing you come off once, you were so close to him and putting pressure on him.

swtmerce - ignore the hecklers it is patently obvious that you were faster than that guy in the corners and on the straight, but not enough to make it stick if he wasn't willing to let you by on the straight. He should have let you by.

At least you can console yourself by knowing what he sees every time he glances in a shop window driving past. A bloke in a girls carwink

I agree learning to drop back is a good tactic. His off was due to his ego.

Cheers Dan. Forums are excellent places to learn human naturewink I'm just satisfied that I took the car home in one piece and he was on a tow truck.
