Going to do Donnington in the near future. The silenced limit on the web site is 98db drive-by. Do they test static as well with say 60% revs like Oulton? (I registered 98db last time so bit concerned it could be 50:50 getting on)

They don't normally bother with a static test at donny, just rely on the drive-by.

ETA Also 98dB drive-by means the static limit will be 100dB

Get it checked before you go! We had problems and wasted half the day adding an extra baffle to our exhaust. banghead IMHO the noise limits at Donnington are a joke anyway! The bl--dy circuit is right under the flightpath for east midlands airport !!

No static, only driveby. I've seen several people sent home after getting out on the track. They do apply the limit rigorously.

If you post the make and spec of your car, others may be able to tell you if it will be OK based on their experiences.

well it's a vtec powered elise with a larini club sport exhaust / large carbon induction thingy so very unlikely anybody's the same spec. I registered 98db static at Oulton so have no idea how the drive-by will effect me. I suspect it's the induction noise which might be the killer

If 98 at Oulton then you should pass at Donny as thats a driveby. My M100 was 95 at Oulton and had no prob`s at Donny.

IMHO i think Donny `s noise restriction is quite resonable, you want to try Bedford 87db driveby eek(mind you i had no prob`s there)

Since you`ve got an Elise it`s worth joining Lotus On Track and they can advise you
