Any one else up for this one?

I'm hoping to be in my Eunos Turbo, but if not will be in the MR2.

Yeah....I reckon I may be up for this. My job makes it difficult to book too far in advance though! It'll be my first ever track day. I've just bought a 309 GTi, specifically for "tracking" and intend to do it up over time. I'll see how i do!

There are 6 of us going from MX5NUTZ, think 5 MX5's and a Supra so far and one MR2 from IMOC.

Anyone else going?

Good to meet you Steve, especially when I discovered your car isn't entirely standard!!

Oh, and - no - I had no car probs at Colerene, that was a chap called 'TotalVX' in a turbo VX220.. probably still no match for yours! thumbup

Ah, just a K&N and a peco big bore wink

I think a VX with a turbo and a touch of tuning would be absurdly fast, always been interested in them as a potential MX5 replacement, thing with the MX5 is its so easy to drive flat out. I've an MR2 as well thats lots slower but I've never attended a trackday in the MR2 without at least one spin, mid-engined is far harder on the limit.

Good to meet you beer

Anyone know when the next event like this is on at Abingdon? Would really fancy getting the little Eunos on track as it were, keep saying I'm going to do it but never seem to get round to it. Abingdon is perfect for me......

14th November Motor Sport Events.

I've decided to put my track car to bed now for the winter and do a few more engine alterations to see if I can run a bit more boost smile

Do they have a website? Would be nice to see some other PH'ers there, I'm a total trackday noob. Am I right in thinking Abingdon is more of an airfield than a track? How do they charge, just for the day or some other way? My Eunos just had a new MOT but is a bit shabby, is it going to get scrutineered or anything like that? So many questions......

http://www.motorsport-events.co.uk/

As long as your car isn't dropping fluids or going to breakdown on track then its fine, no inspections etc

Have a browse of their website it should explain everything. Abingdon is an airfield but its a good one with real tarmac not concrete and the surface is good, track nice layout etc Good place for a beginner all in all.
