I'm planning on booking the next few months track days with my GT3RS, and I'm tempted with Keevil just to get to know the car (I haven't tracked this one yet). Should I be worried about stone chips as it's an airfield track, or is it no worse than anything else? I've never done an airfield track day before so I'm not really sure what to expect.

On this note, anyone recommend any good companies that do clear stone chip protection?

Cheers!

nick at AMI does a good job on Ventureshield, near Tring

airfield can be bad for stones and wear on tyres. If i were you i would stick to a track with good tarmac!

Keevil can be very nasty for stone chips... my Caterham bears many a scar from airfields...

Bloody good fun though... depends a) how much a respray would cost you and b) how concerned you are by gravel rash?

I think I'll give it a miss then and stick to the tracks rather than the airfield! I haven't even picked the car up yet (next week) and it's the one I've been waiting for for a few years - white 996 GT3RS, so I'd like to keep the front as it is!

Cheers guys.
