Hi all,
A similar question to the Nurburgring thread I know, but also slightly different:-
My insurance company don't insure track days, meaning I need to sort out 1 day of insurance for track use. I also tried competition cars in Nottingham who quoted me about £400 with an excess of 10% of sum insured. Since I'm insuring £40k, it makes it a little steep!
Anyone know of a company who would insure me for a track day in the Uk at more reasonable rates?
Thanks in advance.

Doesn't sound out of line for one day.

The only reasonably priced solution is to get a road policy that includes track day cover.

Alternatively you could just not crash.

I would agree. I'm with CCI who are in my opinion "competitive". CCI provide 4 free track days in their annual policy and then £50 for each track day there after. For a £40k motor, regardless of how well you drive, you can never rule out somebody hitting yours !

If it's the Porsche you want to cover then your options are AON or A Manning. Both will provide regular insurance that includes track day cover (for organisers who are members of ATDO).

Thanks for the comments. Not crashing was my plan A - but you can never rule out plan B!!

Yes, it is the Porsche, so will make a few calls and see what I can arrange.

Thanks again.

turbo, another option which I am pretty sure the insirance companies are happy with is insuring a certain value rather than the full amount of your car.

E.g. you could insure yourself / car for £20k and you would have to foot the rest of the bill if you did more damage than that / completely wrote the car off.

I renewed my ins this week & went with HIC as they give full track cover in the UK, its an M3 Evo & cost £642 for 1 yr fully comp but limited to 3k miles a year.

I have come across this tread as I am going on the Porsche only TD at Brands Hatch at the end of November in my 997 S and am looking for insurance.

Already got my annual policy and is too expensive to change until the end of the term. So wondered who you went with in the end and how much it cost for a day?

Not sure if they do TD's but Insure motorsport are who I use for insuring my GT3 race car, they do all of Britcar and other championships and I found them by far the most helpful and reasonably priced of the lot mentioned above

CCI = Competition Car Insurance, they are based in Nottingham, their tel No is: 0115 941 5255

NB It is quite a big concern doing lots of other types of insurance, my advice is ask for Wayne Rowland who specialises in the 'on track' policies. I have found him very helpful and has covered my rookie season in a race car.
