Anyone ever had any problems at all? Last time I was at Oulton I seem to remember them mentioning something about coryright infringement?

If camera's are allowed, I'm sure externally mounted bullet cams would be ok, but how about mini DV cam's externally mounted using a pro mount?

At Cadwell, I had to sign a form to say i would not sell the footage for profit or i would have to pay £25k! nice.

They checked the mount was secure and that was it.
(my camera mount is a tomtom sucker on the windscreen with the camcorder tiewrapped to it- works well and is free)

Haha, love that makeshift mount! I'm off to MPH on Friday and there's a few exhibitors who sell 'em so I'll see what they got!

Oulton make you sign a disclaimer stating that you will not use the footage for commercial gain.

I was there a few weeks ago and they said in the briefing that any camera equipment must be securely mounted, and specifically said that suction cups and gaffer tape do not constitute secure, but I think they were probably thinking about camcorders, rather than bullet cams. I do not remember them saying anything about devices having to be mounted inside the car.

What's with the copyright thing? That seems daft to me. It's only come up recently and only at MSV circuits. I'm off to find out what it's all about.

Used a camera last time out at oulton, they rambled on about forms and stuff in the breifing but I never bothered. Never got hassled all day and camera was clearly on view in the car. Think its just another money maker tbh

Lots (it seems most) of us racing in RGB use on board video and have to sign disclaimers for MSV, Silverstone etc. A couple of months ago I actually spoke to them and they assured me the only things they're worried about are using film for commercial gain or if you publicly display video that might present them/their circuit/their staff in a bad light. They specifically said they aren't worried about sharing video via YouTube etc otherwise. So I just sign the disclaimers and don't worry about it.

Yeah, it'll just be to stop the likes of Duke rocking up with a few motors all camera'd up, then making some drift/track DVD to sell on.

MSV don't want to miss out on a slice of the pie.

I was told at Snetterton at some point this year that photographs weren't allowed to be taken in the pit lane! More nonsense about licencing, permits etc.

That's just cock isn't it? How on earth does it matter if people take pictures in he pit lane? It's not like Razzle are going to be buying up the rights to the pit lane photos from one of our days...

Although - seeing you deal with someone telling you to "get your t!ts out" would be well worth a photo shoot Melindi :-)

I think that would be deemed far too scary for the magazine buying population. Anyway... MSV would probably manage to invoice me for it.

I've got one of these. Recommended. There's some footage here;

I really must upload the stack of tapes I have on my desk.... (and drive round Lydden faster).

I've signed the disclaimers at Silverstone, Cadwell and Brands, but no-one's ever checked either that they're signed, or that I have one to go with the camera. All the scrutineers care about at sprints is if the camera's going to come off and hit you on the head. And no-one at track days has paid a blind bit of notice.

I've also been using one of these for a number of years. Very good mount indeed, although I'm putting in some fixed buckets next years so I'll not be using it much longer frown I still have the first mount i bought (also a B-Hague), which uses all manner of pivots and a big suction cup. Hopefully i can get this to stick to the underside of the roof (once the liner is out!).

Castle Combe seem to have become more concerned about cameras in the last year, although i dont think they have started to try and make you sign your life away. It was probably only this year or last they stopped passengers filming with hand held cameras!

reference has to be made at this point to the chap at spa a few years back who asked (in front of 100 other drivers) "if the no hand held cameras rule applied to the driver as well".

SPE-SHULL! still, i bet his mummy loves him.

Jeez.

We had one once who stopped down at Stowe, took his helmet off and donned a Panama. Because he was hot!

Last time I was at Oulton, in the last hour of the afternoon I just set it up (clamped to the passenger headrest) and wen't out. I didn't sign any forms and the stewards could see it.
