Outrageous e- mag headline -Track Day Smashes: Laugh .......
Discussion
I dont know whether anyone else gets the regular e-mail from iMotor, but I have just received mine and take great offense at a headline in the latest issue. I have written to the editor and received an individual reply, but do not regard that as sufficient - am I being unreasonable? I should like to see a follow up apology to every subscriber.
This is a copy of my e-mail
"Dear Mr Watson
“Track Day Smashes: Laugh at rich goons totalling their uninsured motors.”
I am a subscriber to a number of motoring magazines (Autocar, EVO, Octane, Total 911 etc) and have been watching the development of electronic magazines with interest. It is therefore with some regret that I have to tell you that as an enthusiast I find this headline so offensive that not only do I intend to unsubscribe to this e-mag, but unless a prominent apology and retraction are issued I shall also tear up my direct debit for all Dennis publications. To add insult to injury this headline is also factually incorrect – the second clip is clearly motor racing where many hard working people spend all their spare cash and more.
I sincerely hope you will do the decent thing within the next couple of hours."
The reply I have received is
"Mat Watson is out of the office at present, but I wanted to respond in his absence.
Thanks for the feedback, I’m sorry that you have taken offence with an element of the newsletter.
We try to be amusing and irreverent in our delivery, but certainly have no wish to offend any of our readers. With hindsight I can see that the aforementioned comment was insensitive and apologise for any offence caused.
Myself and some of my colleagues enjoy track-day driving ourselves and appreciate the enthusiasm and camaraderie of those who enjoy their cars.
I hope this won’t spoil your continued enjoyment of iMOTOR.
Best regards

Certainly a case of misplaced humour, but most of us have been guilty of that at some time? For once, it's actually nice to see someone coming back with a prompt and effectively unconditional apology and apparently having dome something about it: I had a quick look a few minutes ago and couldn't find a trace of it; maybe I wasn't looking in the right place; hadn't even heard of it or looked at it before.
“Track Day Smashes: Laugh at rich goons totalling their uninsured motors.”
Obviously written by a bitter and twisted Labour voting vegetablist and to be ignored.
What would they prefer?
"Track Day Boredom: Enjoy watching bearded morris dancers glide their Pius' around an eco friendly grass circuit"?

kwits.Gawd, listen to you lot of Daily Mail readers!
Have a day off. it was light hearted not at all offensive.
It is annoying crashing your car, but it is a trackday and you sign a disclaimer saying you understand the score. You crash, it is sad, but it is no good moaning that someone else gets some schadenfreude from it.

Interesting to note that some of those complaining here are more than happy to post similar comments on various subjects in P&P threads..Have a day off. it was light hearted not at all offensive.
