which track day car

can anyone advise me what would make the best trackday car mrs mk2, crx , or mx5, at the moment i am tracking a lotus 7 kit but want a cheap car so as not to bin me pride n joy

I am still running MK1 MR2's on track for the sheer fact that I consider them disposable and they have a decent MR layout. We're on our second in 4.5 years and between the two they have done over 15000 track miles, one engine (my fault), 6 sets of discs, 9 sets of race spec pads (accumulated) and I lost count on tyres...

Out of your choices there, I'd be inclined to go with the MX5 - imense fun on track, cheap to run and repair too.
