How do people insure their car for use when driving to and from track days?

I don't want to insure a track car on an annual basis as the cost of insuring a modifed car will be high considering I am only going to drive it on the road a few times to and from track days.

You can get day insurance but this only cover 'standard cars' - is there a modified car version? (one which won't shy aware from a set of buckets and no interior?)

Getting a trailer isn't an option as I have no where to keep it.

Try Competition Car Insurance - www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk - my Supra is currently insured with them on a fully comprehensive "rally car road transit" policy...which covers what it says on the tin!

It allows me to drive to and from "events" (i.e. circuits) on a limited milage basis, with a sensible excess and a decent premium too (£300-odd quid per year).

EDIT: It also depends on how old your car is...I suspect I would've got a cheaper quote had I insured the Supra as a "modern classic" with someone like Hagerty - www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk - I'm paying £186 a year on the Porsche, which is on a classic car policy, with 10% of the annual premium for each track day I'd like insurance for.
