I am looking at doing Brands Hatch at some point this year. So far I am finding that most trakdays seem to be for the Indy circuit, so my question is: Is the Indy circuit worth doing or should I hang on for the full GP circuit? Or does it not make much difference overall?

Indy Circuit is close to the bottom of the list of UK tracks for me. GP circuit is right up there at the top - BIG difference.

I've driven the Indy circuit a few times and love it,

you've still got Paddock hill and druids. and I like the S bend which you'd miss if doing the full circuit.

Never driven the GP circuit but get the impression its a fair bit faster.

If it's the Ultima you'll be using then it's got to be the GP circuit.

I've done the Indy a couple of times. The phrase I've heard is "easy to learn, difficult to master".

I've got an MX5 so like the circuits with corners and no long straights - so I'm not sure the car would enjoy the GP circuit.

If you have a powerful car then I can well imagine that the indy circuit maybe too short if you want to explore some high speeds.

Yep I agree the Indy is "easy to learn but difficult to master". The GP circuit is fantastic v fast and flowing. Expensive though !! driving I am booked to drive our Radical SR3 on the GP circiut with Gold Track June 24th.

The Indy circuit will suit the lower powered cars, I'm taking my 106 Rallye there on Wednesday, should be interesting to see how it compares to the Evos, Cosworths and the Ultima that are confirmed on the smaller, tighter track.

We are talking about 3 turns here but it makes a huge difference. Paddock becomes "another" important and challenging corner, not the "only" corner.

Save time and money and book the GP (there are only 4 dates for the whole year).

A cheap and much more interesting alternative to Brands Indy is Snetterton...

I think that was me ... smile

Personally I don't view it as an either/or question they are really two different circuits.

Certainly the GP circuit is far superior, but it isn't available very often, and its very expensive whereas the Indy circuit is available practically every week.

I like them both and would encourage you to drive them both.

Agreed - both are well worth doing and seeing as the Indy comes up a lot more often I'd suggest giving it a go.
