Are trackdays at Knockhill only £45 ?
Discussion
as the title says really......

Can anybody pick up any small text that says you only get 10minutes or something like that?
Or along the lines that only half the track will be used etc. ??
If it is only £45 then its pleasantly cheap !
(I know the weather will probably be raining all year round, but this is what I am hoping for if I go to this track).

I'd post in the Scotland Section if you want to canvas some opinions, lots of track-day talk going on
Cheers.

Cheers.
The 'Speed Sunday' £45 sessions used to be called 'Hot Hatch' days back in the old days. Entry fee does indeed give you the entire day, broken into 10 minute sessions. Once off the circuit join the back of the queue and wait another hour or so to get 'down the front' again. If you spend the entire day doing this then bank on 6 or maybe 7 sessions, obviously depending on how busy things are.
As mentioned, IMO the £45 days are thinly-disguised demolition derbys. As long as you are happy to be out with complete talentless council-estate muppets in 20 year-old Cavaliers and £150 Fiestas spinning endlessly out of control on every session then you'll be fine. If you are caught in traffic expect some blokes in a 250 bhp turbo'd Red Top Nova GTE to be sat 3 microns from your rear bumper. I attended many of these days in years past when I had 'cheaper' hot-hatches & coupes. No disrespect to the Knockhill marshalls, but 'standards' are somewhat thinly enforced & you'd be utterly astounded at what people are allowed to get away with. It is more like a free-for-all 'race' without MSA licences than any other trackday in the UK.
The hot-marques days at KH are the polar opposite, as well-run and marshalled as any similar UK event. There are several car clubs run private trackday sessions throughout the year at KH, usually at circa £65 for a two-hour open pitlane session in the evening. It's a great, technical circuit, with lots of up-down off-camber corners and a surprising height variation.

Haven't driven on it myself recently, but Knockhill was resurfaced and some of the corners reprofiled a few years back. As it's used for superbikes, GTs, BTCC etc, I'd assume it was as smooth as a baby's bum! Mate tracks his car there regularly with Glenrothes Motor Sports Club and has no complaints about the surface.
