944/RX7/M3/325+/MX5charged/TVR wanted
Discussion
So I'm looking to buy a trackable road car with the engine in the front and rear wheel drive. Anything decent with sorted/uprated suspension & brakes, though no silly bodywork mods. The candidates are: 944 S2, E36 M3, RX7, Supercharged MX5, S2000 or even TVR Chimaera or E30 325 / 327 should be welcome. Budget flexible (though to be kept within 9999 preferably, obviously depending on the car).
Would relly appreciate if anyone has anything or knows someone who is considering selling their machine. I am in outer West London.

Hi Chris,
I'd definately consider an S2000 (I did, I own one!) however if you do get one realise one thing. On long straights like Bedford you WILL get overtaken by other things in your list. However, through corners you should be in the quickest on your list.
My take is anyone can be fast on the straight, corners are fun etc. Have a peek at my video chasing a 911 at Bedford in the Bedford thread. Granted I cant drive for toffee, but you get the idea.
If theres any way I can help, give me a shout.

Well I'm thinking of selling my TVR S3 if you're interested.
Just an observation, but I'd imagine the RX7, the BMWs, a 944 or to a lesser extent the TVR could be quite an expensive proposition on a track. My tiv is great fun (handles better than the MX5 I had beforehand in fact) but it goes through tyres quite rapidly on track and the costs start to mount up if you're spending a significant amount of time on track.
What do you want from the car? For simplicity and affordability I'd go for an MX5. For outright performance I'd go for something very light and possibly bike engined - I suspect a Sylva Striker or something would murder the above given a vageuly decent engine spec.

Simply biggest choice of cars so eventually found a decent and inexpensive one, though will need coilovers, etc now (don't want to spend too much at this stage though). On the other hand feels a bit strange not being in a sports car as such (though engine is sweet), though I had the same feeling with my ex 320 initially...
