Hi, I've managed to find a place that can corner weight my car but its predominantly a race car workshop and they have moved away from laser wheel alignment tools and switched to the old skool technique of using Dunlop guages. Anyone know if these are accurate enough for setting up a road car? Also, can anyone share their experiences regarding corner weighting in terms of the process, cost and benefits perceived. If anyone can recommend anywhere in Beds, Herts or Bucks that would be handy also! Cheers

Wheels in Motion in Chesham is meant to be very good for wheel alignment/corner weighting. I believe they specialise in race-prepped MX5s but can work on any car.

So you reckon a place that specialises in setting up race cars (where geometry - caster, camber, toe etc is all important) might not be good enough for a road car?! Think you might be weeing into wind wink

lol no frodo I don't think I got my point across. Race cars are 'easier' to set up in that they are, to an extent, simple and more basic; i.e. removable body work and easily accessible suspension components. All I really wanted to know is are Dunlop guages up to the job? I was under the impression that there is very little margin for error regarding alignment hence why a lot of places have switched to expensive laser setups?

They don't have corner weights. Second year running i've had to corner weight somewhere else then go to WIM for Geo.

Another vote for WIM - Tony was very good for my M3.

Might be worth giving him a buzz - last time I was there he was talking about offering corner weighting as a service at some point.
