im working at download festival so am taking the chance to do donigton for the first time. ok there are two option full day and evening. the full day is 375 and the evening is 125

i presumed evening was from 2 to 5? i must be wrong as its not half the price. can someone please educate me on why there is such a difference in price they seem like the same thing just one is 3 times the cost for double the time. Also i can afford to do the full day but is it worth the additional cost and early time il have to leave? (live in east sussex) also what ime do i have to be there for the full day to siggn on etc

thanks for help sorry so many questions

The full day is more expensive than usual because it is an 'unsilenced' day, it's rare to get a noisy trackday at Donington but
I don't know what that means at Donington in db terms.

The evening session is the more normal (for Donington) 98db.

If your car is over 98db, you have little choice.

cheers thats perfect. ok so as its unsilenced will i be in the way of everyone and more importanlty will i have to keep pulling over out of the way if i bring a z3m as im presuming this wont be a normal track day as such going on the noise restrictions? id rather do the evening after learning that but have to see if i can wingle it with the festival security stuff as im meant to be there before 5pm on the day.

It *is* a normal trackday - it just means there is no noise restriction. Loud exhausts don't mean they'll be going any quicker, despite what some think.

Only works if you got da big rear wing to balance the lift created by the extra flow out the exhaust. Innit.

yer i know its not directly related to speed but looking at the list its just full of caterhams i see no point in me going on a trackday like this. my car just isnt quick enough and i dont want to spend the whole day going round pulling over. Of course there maybe some of you who have abilities and vehicles to keep up with them but im not experienced enough or delusional enough to think this is possible with the car i have and the setup it has.

Thanks for the input guys

What entry list are you reading? confused Less than 10 of the 40 places are Caterhams.

mractive, i wouldn't read too much into the cars that are listed. having had a closer look at the 33 confirmed bookings we have currently, we've got :-

  • 7 people who have never been to Donington Park before
  • 5 people who have never done a track day before
  • over a dozen regulars who I know categorically will be as good as gold
  • just 3 drivers who hold a current MSA race licence
Hope that helps!

I've genuinely found BaT great. Even on a noisy day with lots of full on race cars I had no problems at all. Just listen to briefing - put up with crap jokes - and you'll be ok. Great photo's aswell.

thanks i dont doubt the day will be a good one, im sure it will get me nice and hyped up for dealing with the f@ck heads at the festival, it amazes me the amount of drugs some people take and the strange things they do. lets just hope i can get back into the car park once the trackday is over, havnt done download festival before and not sure how access to staff parking is.
