I am 15, nearly 16 and obviously I don't hold a road license, I have raced karts for many years now and am thinking about giving it up. I was wondering whether one can drive on a trackday without a road license, I was thinking I could get a trackday car, and just use it for fun. So would I need a license or would I have to go testing instead?

On most trackdays you'll need a full UK road licence.

There are a few circuit-organised events that give you a taster before you've passed your test, but I believe they're quite tame.

Your other option would be to join a race series like Ginetta Junior, 750MC SaxMax, or such.

No you don't. At Donny and MSV circuits your allowed on if your under 16 if you have a race license and are accompanied by an ARDS or equivalent instructor at all times (although this is dependent on the organizers insurances), other circuits I dunno. I seem to remember that your not allowed any passengers on test days so I don't know how they work.

Trackdays - Hold an MSA Junior national B license and you can go on track accompanied by ARDS instructor grade B or higher.

Donington Park - Trackzone Trackdays - MSA junior license holders are allowed out on their own

MSV circuits require Juniors to have ARDS / MSV approved instructor and be in Saxmax / Ginetta / Tcar

Best bet is to check with the company organising the trackday. On top of the circuit's own rules, the TDO may have additional ones.
