basically im going to be doing a couple of track days in the summer, and i want to be insured, as i don't trust the other people on the track, or if something went wrong with my car and ended up stacking it.
what are the best companies to go with?
will the fact im 19 make it expensive?
my car is a mk4 astra turbo worth about £5k, how much should i be looking to pay for a day's cover?
edit: just realised i spelt insurance wrong in the title.
cheers,
matt

I have used competition car insurance in the past. It was a few years ago but they were always helpful and not too expensive. Never had to claim fortunately!

I've used competition car insurance in the past also. Price was about £140 for a novice in a £15k car. Excess is 10% of the vehicle value. I would expect your price to be proportionally lower for a lower valued car, subject to a certain 'admin' cost overhead. (I.e. I'd estimate your cost to be between £50 and £100 with a £500 excess on a £5000 car.) Give them a call and let us know how you get on.
